Error trying to upload an image: ERR_HTTP2_PING_FAILED

This thread has 11 posts and 440 views.

I'm trying to upload an image. It's a jpg, 752KB in size, 1920px by 816px. After several minutes, I see a Chrome error message:

This site can’t be reached
The webpage at https://www.moviestillsdb.com/add
might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
ERR_HTTP2 PING FAILED

I get a similar error message when I try it using the Microsoft Edge browser.

Hi, tfelondon! What profile are you trying to upload to? Can you screen capture the errors, please? Also, can you post or send me via PM the image, please (you can use an image hosting site)? Thanks!

Hi Michaella,Thanks for your help. I was trying to upload the image to my own profile (https://www.moviestillsdb.com/users/tfelondon). In the upload form it asked for an IMDb link and I specified https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059800, which the form correctly identified as the 1965 movie Thunderball. I specified "Publicity Still" for the image type, and "Molly Peters" for the people in the image. You can see the image I was trying to upload here: https://i.ibb.co/2nbP4Lw/Molly-Peters-as-Patricia-Thunderball-A.jpg. And here is a screen shot of the error message I received: https://i.ibb.co/bswmC7K/Error-Message2.jpg

Are you inputting your profile info in the Add page form? It should just be the IMDB url. Then hit enter.

There's another way to upload. Let's try uploading through the profile page:

https://www.moviestillsdb.com/movies/thunderball-i59800

You'll find a + sign next to the name. Click it and try uploading that way. Let me know how it goes.

Hi Michaella,No, I was not inputting any of my profile info in the Add page form. But I was using the Add page form while signed into my account; I accessed it from the 'Add' menu option at the top of the page.Thank you for your suggestion for uploading the image from the movie's profile page, using the + sign next to the movie name. I tried this and got exactly the same results as before: An error message (https://i.ibb.co/bswmC7K/Error-Message2.jpg) saying "This site can’t be reached... ERR HTTP2 PING_FAILED".

I've tried disabling all my Chrome browser extensions, and that didn't work. I've tried using another browser (Microsoft Edge) and that didn't work either; it yielded the same error code ERR_HTTP2 PING FAILED.

I wonder if there is no disk space remaining in the place the web application is trying to store my uploads. Looking into the error code I'm getting, I'm seeing reports of insufficient disk space causing this error message.

I've never encountered this error before, so I Googled it. Is your browser up to date? It appears that this error can occur when your browser is outdated and is no longer supported. Please download the latest version of Chrome and Edge and try uploading again.

I really appreciate the time and effort you are putting into this.I am using the latest versions of Chrome and Edge. I also tried the upload with two other browsers: Brave and SeaMonkey. I'm getting the same error on all these browsers, which makes me think the problem may be on the server side.I wondered if the problem might be related to file size. The jpg image I have been trying to upload is 1920px X 816px and rather large: 752KB. I tried the upload with test files of the same pixel dimensions but smaller (and lower quality). I found that the upload worked when the file size is 162KB or smaller, but failed when it was 194KB or larger.

I now have 4 test files that are marked 'pending review'. Could I ask that you delete them? They are not all of the high quality I hope to achieve.

Server disk space cannot be the factor because new images are uploaded every day and also as we speak. https://www.moviestillsdb.com/pictures

Seems like a specific issue that is related to your browser, device or connection. Are you able to try different internet connection?

By the way, I had a chance to view your uploads. Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to accept those. They are screen captures from a film before screen capture technology was around.

Thank you, andrewz and michaella92.
